Stacey Hirvela

Though she earned her degree in linguistics, Stacey finally realized her calling was in the garden. After graduation from the New York Botanical Garden School of Professional Horticulture, she served as the horticulturist at the former Tavern on the Green restaurant and a garden editor at Martha Stewart Living magazine.

Now, as a marketing specialist for Proven Winners shrubs partner Spring Meadow Nursery, she continues to spread her message of horticultural empowerment to home gardeners across North America. She is working on creating a quarter-acre garden at her home in Grand Haven, Michigan, where deer are, unfortunately, frequent visitors.

Stacey’s first book, Edible Spots & Pots, was published in 2014 and will be available for sale and signing during the Grand Garden Show.

You will love hearing from Stacey on how small spaces have big potential! “Free yourself from perceived limitations with 12 tips on how to achieve almost anything you dream of – from a formal vegetable garden to a bocce court – in your yard. Get inspired with photos, ideas, and plant suggestions from real-life gardens around the world.” ~ Stacey
